Delete PDF Pages

Remove selected pages from a PDF directly in your browser. The original file is never modified; you download a newly generated PDF with the remaining pages.
Runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Your PDF is processed locally in your browser. The original is never modified and nothing is uploaded.

How to use the Delete PDF Pages

  1. Choose one PDF or drag it onto the drop area. Its page count is read locally in your browser.
  2. Enter the pages or ranges to remove, such as 2, 5, 8-10. Use 1-based page numbers.
  3. Check the normalized removed pages and the remaining page count, then select Delete Pages and download the new PDF.

Examples

  • Remove a blank or duplicate page. Enter its page number, check that the remaining count looks right, and download the cleaned copy.
  • Remove a section. Enter a range such as 8-10 to remove those three pages while keeping everything before and after them.
  • Remove a non-contiguous set. Enter 1, 4, 7-8. The remaining pages keep their original order.

How local PDF page deletion works

CHARTOVANA loads the source PDF with the browser’s PDF library, determines which pages to keep, and copies those pages into a new PDF. Page content, dimensions and orientation are preserved. Nothing is rasterised or re-encoded, and no PDF bytes are sent to a server.

The original file is never edited. If a selection would remove every page, the operation is invalid because a PDF must contain at least one page.

Page syntax

Page numbers are 1-based. Use commas and inclusive ranges: 2, 5, 8-10. Duplicate page numbers are removed while preserving the first occurrence, and remaining pages keep their original order.

What this tool does not do

This tool removes pages only. It does not merge files, extract pages into separate PDFs, reorder pages, remove metadata, OCR, redact or watermark. It also cannot open password-protected PDFs.

Frequently asked questions

Can I delete every page?

No. The resulting PDF must contain at least one page, so the action is disabled and an inline error appears when the selection would delete all pages.

Is the original PDF changed?

No. The source file in your browser is read-only. Deleting pages creates a new PDF for download, and the original remains untouched.

What page formats can I enter?

Use 1-based numbers and inclusive ranges separated by commas, such as 1, 3, 5-8, or 1, 3, 5-8. Spaces are accepted.

Does this upload my PDF or preserve metadata?

Your PDF is processed locally in this browser tab and is never uploaded. The operation preserves metadata rather than sanitising it; use a privacy-inspected document workflow if metadata removal is required.

Are remaining pages copied or re-encoded?

Remaining pages are copied with their original content, dimensions and orientation. The PDF is not rasterised, converted to images, compressed or optimised.
