PDF to Word
Your PDF is read and converted locally in this browser. No file or extracted text is uploaded.
How to use the PDF to Word
- Choose a text-based PDF. The file is read only in your browser.
- Select Convert to Word and wait while each page is checked for selectable text.
- Download the generated DOCX. Review it in Word or another compatible editor.
Text-focused PDF to Word conversion
PDF.js extracts selectable text in page order. CHARTOVANA writes that text into a Word-compatible DOCX, preserving basic paragraph and heading cues where the PDF exposes them.
This is not a visual replica of the original PDF. Exact layout, images, columns and tables may change. Scanned or image-only pages require OCR, which is not included; pages without a text layer are reported and skipped.
The PDF and extracted text stay in this browser. Nothing is uploaded or sent to an external service.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert a scanned PDF?
Not in this version. Scanned pages need OCR. Pages without selectable text are reported and not included.
Will the Word file look exactly like the PDF?
No. The conversion focuses on editable text and basic paragraph/heading structure, not exact visual fidelity.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. PDF.js reads the PDF and the DOCX is generated locally in your browser. There is no upload or external processing API.
