JPG to PDF
Your images are processed locally in your browser. They are never uploaded, and the generated PDF stays on your device.
How to use the JPG to PDF
- Choose one or more JPG/JPEG images or drag them onto the drop area. Each image is validated and previewed locally.
- Drag the image cards or use Move up and Move down to set the page order.
- Choose page size, orientation, margin and Fit or Fill, then select Generate PDF and download the result.
Examples
- A photo set. Put several phone photos in the order you want them and create a single PDF for sharing or printing.
- Scanned JPG pages. Arrange scans in reading order and use A4 portrait with a small margin for a clean document.
- A mixed-shape collection. Use Auto orientation so portrait images get portrait pages and landscape images get landscape pages.
How local JPG to PDF conversion works
CHARTOVANA reads each JPEG in the browser, embeds it into a new PDF with pdf-lib, and creates one page per image. JPEGs are embedded directly rather than rendered to a canvas or re-encoded, so image quality is not reduced by an extra compression pass.
Each page uses a standard A4 or Letter size with deterministic margins. Fit keeps the whole image visible without enlarging small files; Fill covers the usable page area and crops the overflow. Aspect ratios are preserved in both modes.
Image order and pages
The first image becomes page 1, the second page 2, and so on. Move up, Move down and drag-and-drop all change that same ordered list. The page count of the generated PDF equals the number of images.
What this tool does not do
This tool accepts JPG/JPEG only. It does not convert PNG, WebP or HEIC, extract PDF pages, OCR images, remove backgrounds, or edit the images themselves. It also does not promise metadata sanitisation.
Frequently asked questions
Which image formats can I use?
JPG and JPEG only. The file’s actual header is checked, so renaming another format to .jpg will not make it valid. PNG, WebP, HEIC and other formats are not accepted by this tool.
What is the difference between Fit and Fill?
Fit scales the image down to stay entirely inside the margins without distorting it. Fill scales it proportionally to cover the usable page area, then crops the overflow. Fit does not enlarge small images.
How does Auto orientation work?
Each image gets a page orientation based on its shape: wider images use landscape pages and taller images use portrait pages. A square image uses portrait. Different pages in one PDF can therefore have different orientations.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Images are read, previewed and embedded in this browser tab. There is no image upload, server-side PDF processing or third-party conversion service.
Does the PDF preserve image metadata?
JPEGs are embedded directly. This tool does not promise metadata or EXIF removal, and no image data is sent anywhere. Use a privacy-inspected workflow if metadata removal is required.
