Reorder PDF Pages
Your PDF is processed locally in your browser. Page content is copied, never uploaded, and the original is not modified.
How to use the Reorder PDF Pages
- Choose a PDF or drag it onto the drop area. The page count is read locally in your browser.
- Rearrange pages with drag and drop, or use the Move up and Move down buttons for keyboard control.
- Check the final order, select Reorder PDF, and download the newly generated PDF.
Examples
- Move a signature page to the end. Use Move down until the signature page is where the recipient expects it.
- Put an executive summary first. Drag the summary page to the top and confirm the new position numbering.
- Restore a sensible sequence. If a scanned document arrived out of order, rearrange the page positions and generate a clean copy.
How local PDF page reordering works
CHARTOVANA reads the source PDF with the browser’s PDF library and copies every page into a new PDF in the order you set. Page content, dimensions and orientation are preserved. Nothing is rasterised, recompressed or sent to a server.
The original file is never edited. The page list is a permutation of the source pages: every page must appear exactly once. Move up, Move down and drag-and-drop all update that same ordered list.
Keyboard and touch
Drag-and-drop is optional. Move up and Move down are real buttons with boundary states, so the tool works from a keyboard. The page count and every page’s original number remain visible.
What this tool does not do
This tool only changes page order. It does not delete, extract, merge, rotate, OCR, redact or watermark pages, and it does not remove metadata. It also cannot open password-protected PDFs.
Frequently asked questions
Does reordering change the PDF pages themselves?
No. Page content, dimensions and orientation are copied into a new document. The tool does not rasterise or recompress the pages and never changes the source file.
Can I reorder with a keyboard?
Yes. Every page has Move up and Move down buttons. The first page’s Move up and the last page’s Move down are disabled at the boundaries. Dragging is an optional shortcut.
Can a page be missing or duplicated?
No. The tool starts with every source page once and only moves existing page references. The generated PDF must contain exactly the same number of pages as the input.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The PDF is read and rearranged in this browser tab. There is no document upload, server processing or third-party PDF service.
Does it remove metadata?
No. Page reordering preserves the document pages and is not a metadata sanitizer. Use an appropriate privacy-inspected workflow if metadata removal is required.
